Algunas palabras de Pavel a Kanankíl- 25/Sept/2010

Dear Rocio,

it was very nice to see you on Saturday! And again, sorry for the bad connection – we cannot recognize what was wrong, nevertheless we already started to deal about another space where the connection will be better. Anyway, in these events, we never know what can happen and I regard this as very good experience which we should learn from. And after the two Skype consultations I have found many things that we could learn from – and it is very useful for our future Skype consultations and also for possible others.

That´s why I thought that it would be fine if we would have the possibility to exchange our experience and recommendations for the more technical side of our meetings. So I have started a closed FB group that might serve this function well, maybe it could be also good source for the possible future article about our Skype consultations! You should get the invitation, please, invite also other people from Kanankil, I am not sure who were there – I have invited only Lupita. I suggest to write there only in English – sincerely, I am unable to read anything translated by Google translator:-)

Dear Katka

Thank you for your words and that make me think in what Harlene says about not knowing position.
Once again it is so important to try not to understand so quickly. That's why we have to be more curious and try to ask as many questions as posible to be as close as we can to the meaning of what a person is trying to share with us.
Even a word has a story in the back and it can means many things for each one of us. Not only because of language and translation but of the context and background of each one.

this is what I want to write to you and Alicia and other students now:

Now I can see the conversation between Rocio and Alicia from a different point of you, because of Pavel´s visit of Kanankil these days and his visit of shelter. He shared with us how it looks and works.. and I was crying when reading his comments, I was touched by the circumstances these people live in and the social system.. It so, so different here and there! I´m sure Pavel told you a lot so I am not going to explain it more, I was just shocked and touched and thinking about it for days.. I also realized the importance of your work, the work of all of you who study addictions and psychotherapy and wanna help the situation. And the work of all of you who put yourselves in the work with people there in the shelter...

You all have a great respect from me for the very emotionally (above all) demanding work you do.

I also realized the big misunderstanding in the Kanankil - Prague session when Alicia was talking about her experience with a client. She found her in this place and now I can understand much better, why it was so heartbreaking for her.. We translated the word "shelter" as it is in a dictionary and that means here a place, where everyone is for his own dissicion and can leave whenever he wants and all other things I´m sure Pavel told you about. So, my thinking was influenced by the bad translation and a absence in my mind of a possibility of existence of such a place... I would say a different thing being a team now. Alicia, hope you understand what I am trying to say...

I let everyone now from the Prague group about what had happend. See you all soon!
